In a studio for the production of those road signs there have been made reduced copies and incredibly beautiful road sign supports called “Stolbys-1”.
The key thing of new road sing’s supports is a variable shape of the section. At the same time it is visually very pleasant and functional course. The support is circle in its form underneath for the convenient cleaning the post of a dirty. In the middle of it, at eye-level of the pedestrians, the support is hexagon in plan with the concave sides. This kind of a surface looks unusual and it is hard to put some spam announcements on it. The column is square-shaped so that signs do not turn and get affected by external influence, the V-band clamp is light and durable, at the bottom of the column there is a nice metal foundation.
The foundation is produced from two steel sheets using sheetmetal folding and looks like a fine steel origami.
The column is cheap to produce and easy to use. For instance, the decorative foundation can be set in one sweep due to a conning system of snaps. The two halves are joined — smack! The snaps are designed so that it is impractical to dismantle or cripple the foundation. We have chosen no-nonsense black colour. Now we have the most beautiful and intelligent road sigh support ever.

Road signposts of a new design are appearing in Moscow recently. They are installed on quiet streets with not much traffic, and blend delicately into the city’s architecture.
The new signposts were designed at the The Studio, together with the city’s “Technical Developments Center”.
Here’s how we did it. First, we’ve decided that the pillar must have a square profile to stop the sign plate from moving around due to external forces. Then, we’ve came up with a light but sturdy single-bolt clamp. Last but not least came an elegant metal base, made by bending a steel sheet to make it look like a fine piece of steel origami.
